Ultra Portable Notebooks?

I'm going to be backpacking around the world this next year, and I need a small, versatile notebook computer to take with me.
I have seen the HP mini-note and it seems underpowered. I have also seen the asus linux machine. Both seem OKAY, but are there any other alternatives out right now? Or that will be released before this August?
I fly out to Germany august 30th, so I have some time still, but I'd like to start looking into it ASAP
Concur with the guys above, vaio is a good option and you should know that the ultra portable one is limited by its own size i.e. cant upgrade ram and slow.

have you seen the sony vaio UX or the oqo02?
they support full windows XP or vista and they under 1 pound.

Now, I’m not a Mac guy, but the Macbook Air has been getting a lot of attention. Anything thats "ultra portable" is gonna be really underpowered to make it smaller.
