Normally not, because the rainprotection fits very tight to the backpack (see 1:30), but if you have a smaller tripod (travelling-edition or how this things are called ;o), it will work. I tried it 2 minutes ago

The Illuminati aka …
The Illuminati aka bluebloods like the Rothschilds, Rockefellars, Windsors, Al Gore, Al Pike etc rule Freemasonry. They’ll probably force-vaccinate many with toxic garbage in Fall, start WW3, implement internet 2 & Codex Alimentarius and stage an alien invasion to go a world government with you microchipped, so resist! Support Oracle Broadcasting, Dr. Deagle, David Icke & Project Camelot!
I got my 400 AW …
I got my 400 AW today and I really like it! It’s the perfect backpack for a photographer who wants to know his equipment safety. Especially the little extras like the hidden tripod-holder or the rainprotection are great!
I’ve got it for around 100 Euros, that’s okay

I have this …
I have this backpack and it works very well! The opening in the back system works as well as announced for me, even with a full backpack. With a tripod on top I have to use my thigh for backup, but that’s not a problem.
I have to mount my tripod on top as it’s too big for the mount on the back, but that’s where I put my folded up fleece jacket, so it works very well.
There is also room enough for food and enough beverage for a days trip.
