The Importance of Laptop Backpacks

Laptop backpacks are very practical and functional carriers. They are the perfect option for business people who travel extensively, researchers, employees and students. Backpacks offer greater versatility and more storage facilities. Also, they are available in different shapes, colors and designs to choose from. Since, lot of money is spent on buying laptops, enough care should be taken while carrying them. Laptop backpacks are the ideal solution, as it is the best way of carrying a laptop.

The most important aspect while selecting a laptop backpack is the comfort factor. If the backpack makes it easy and comfortable to carry a laptop, the people may not care about other features of the backpack. Look for the backpack manufacturer who has taken comfort as an important consideration like providing variety of choices in wearing the straps etc.

The next important thing about the backpack is the padding. Since the back pack carries valuable laptop it should to some extent guard the laptop in it. Accidents are possible since the laptops in backpacks are subject to mobility and portability. The purchaser should be sure enough to get a backpack which has enough padding material to protect the laptop from accidents.

Apart from the comfort and protection offered by the backpacks, it should be in a position to handle wear and tear for a longer period of time. The workmanship of the backpack is also very important as it has to be carried anywhere and everywhere.

There are lots of changes happening everyday, so are the changes in the accessories of the laptops. The backpack manufacturers should keep the changes happening in mind and produce backpacks with extra pockets or compartments so that it becomes easy to carry the laptops along with their accessories.

Due to the great demand for laptop backpacks, manufacturers are taking their business seriously and are trying to satisfy the needs of the customers by introducing various varieties of backpacks. Now there are back packs which are made up of water resistant outer cover, also there are back packs which can withstand shock by forwarding shock absorption padding.

A back pack is good only if it fits properly. An ill fitting backpack can cause pain and injury to the back of the person carrying it, which can be short term or long term. Some tips for proper fit are given below:

While buying a back pack, make sure that it has wide and padded shoulder straps as thinner straps can be less comfortable. Also the straps need to be a little long incase the person carrying it is very tall. The weight carried in the back pack should not exceed 15% of the weight of the person, as the posture of the person can change owing to extra load resulting in a back pain or injury. The back packs should not be worn very high on the back as it can increase the neck and shoulder pain. Also care has to be taken so that the backpack rests correctly above the hip bones. A hip belt reduces the bounce and keeps it in a comfortable position. It also distributes the weight load evenly. Both the shoulder straps should be used for comfortability.

me and my brother are saving up money to get it. but we want to be sure it is good enough to support everything that we do on a computer. we love to play video games and do a lot of internet games and searching. i have the sims 2 and i know it takes up a lot of memory. the one that i have needs at least 32MB to run and some other capable chipsets (i dont know) to run also. please help me. i dont if this computer is capable to run my games plus my brothers game and all the other stuff we need for school. so would this computer do the job and hopefully do it fast.

I think you should get a pc instead of a mac. Most games wont work on a mac and the ones that do are more expensive.

Also its quite slow and old as well. You could get a much faster PC for the same price. I am also not sure the graphics in that Mac would be good enough to run most games.

Something like that will be about 3X as fast.

Ultra Portable Notebooks?

I'm going to be backpacking around the world this next year, and I need a small, versatile notebook computer to take with me.

I have seen the HP mini-note and it seems underpowered. I have also seen the asus linux machine. Both seem OKAY, but are there any other alternatives out right now? Or that will be released before this August?

I fly out to Germany august 30th, so I have some time still, but I'd like to start looking into it ASAP

Concur with the guys above, vaio is a good option and you should know that the ultra portable one is limited by its own size i.e. cant upgrade ram and slow.

Ok, so I am thinking of getting either an Inspiron e1405 or its slightly larger cousin, the Inspiron e1505. I know the e1405 is about a pound lighter (5.3 versus about 6 pounds), so that makes it a bit more mobile. The important things I am looking for in a notebook? Decent size widescreen (at least 14 inch), light enough for at least occasional travel (I have one of those Dell backpacks), good wireless connectivity, decent audio. In addition to surfing wirelessly, I might use it for light Photoshop work (most work would be done on my desktop computer). Any help on this dilemma would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I suggest u to go for Inspiron e1405... Its good compared to Inspiron e1505.. Infact as per ur usage... both should be fine.. Inspiron e1505 has dualcore processor.. which gives u good performance.. & Inspiron e1405 is good for WiFi... Both come with XP MCE 2005...

So the verdict is - Inspiron e1405

Here’s the deal:
1) I have a 1998 Dell PC w/ Windows98 that crashes about 6 times a day, that has a non-working CD-Rom drive, and which has a broken printer and won’t accept any other printers. Should I get a new computer (hopefully laptop or notebook) or upgrade in order to build a website/blog on my own?
2) I started a Wordpress.com freebie blog and now want to buy my own domain and build from the ground up--how easy is it to move my current content to the new location?
3) I’ve never done any website design but have started learning html through free tutorials on the web. Do I need to learn all the programming stuff first (i.e., xhtml, CSS, etc.) or can I learn as I build?
4) I have a disability which prevents me from carrying things (have to use a walker), so I need a computer light enough to go into a backpack, but effective enough for website building. Any suggestions for laptops or notebooks for $1200 or less?

1) About all you can use is the case - that'll save you about $25. And that's if you upgrade everything yourself. You can buy a decent computer for less than you can build one for.

2) You download the site (use an FTP program. If you have none, Filezilla is good and it's free.) Then just upload (Filezilla again, if the site isn't on your own computer) to the new site. You'll have to set up the database, but if it's MySQL, and you have access to phpMyAdmin (a common setup), it's pretty trivial. Just back the database up (Export) to a file (name of your choice) and download/upload that file along with all the others. Then just run the file (Import) in phpMyAdmin on the new site.

3) You should learn CSS, because you want control over the style of the page. It's not that difficult to pick up the basics. It's difficult to become an expert (I'm still working on that). But you can learn as you work. Javascript, PHP, SQL (the language, not a particular database), the technique called Ajax, DHTML (your page can build itself on the fly). Learning is good - now, on the web, in school, as you go - none of it is bad.

4) I prefer HP, but there are other good ones. (The new Macbook weighs almost nothing, but I've been using Windows for so long that a Mac would be a steep learning curve for me - probably for you.) Go into a store like Best Buy and lift few up. Acer makes good equipment. (I guess it's a personal choice - there are a few makes I won't consider, but evidently they do sell computers.)
